Classesand counts
Each machine gets a class from its production impact (1 to 3) times how often its parts fail (1 to 3): 6 or 9 is A (critical), 3 or 4 is B, 1 or 2 is C. A spare takes the class of the most critical machine it is fitted on.

| Production impact | Less than once a year (1) | About once a year (2) | Several times a year (3) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Little or none (1) | C (1) | C (2) | B (3) |
| Part of the line (2) | C (2) | B (4) | A (6) |
| Line or plant stops (3) | B (3) | A (6) | A (9) |
Reorder point = use per business day × (your lead-time estimate + the safety days of the class), rounded. The safety days are 20 for A, 10 for B and 0 for C; change them in Settings. The shelf uses the larger of this point and your minimum.
Example: 12 bearings a year over about 245 business days is 0,05 a day; with 5 business days of lead time and 20 safety days for class A, that is about 1,2, so the point is 1. With a minimum of 2, the spare is reordered at 2.
A spare at or below its point, counting what is already on order, goes to the basket with a suggestion back to the maximum.
Counts: class A every 30 days, B every 90, C every 180. A count sets the stock; the difference from the last figure shows what was used or lost.
| Class | Safety days | Count every |
|---|---|---|
| A | 20 business days | 30 days |
| B | 10 business days | 90 days |
| C | 0 business days | 180 days |
